A female vocalist, Delphine COCHAND, joins the band; replacing the male singer who had left ETHERIC SOUL two months earlier. The vocals get more melodic. |

ETHERIC SOUL opens for CORONER / DEPRESSIVE AGE. |

One of the guitar players and the bass player leave the band. They are immediatly replaced. ETHERIC SOUL moves toward a more progressive, less aggressive thrash. |

Musical divergences within the band. Delphine and Jean-Luc decide to continue alone under the name of FINAL TRAGEDY. Style: progressive metal. |

FINAL TRAGEDY records a 3-song CD titled "Final Tragedy" at Herisson Studio (Mulhouse, France),with Renaud Hebinger and Y-FRONT's David Husser at the mixer. ETHERIC SOUL's ex-drummer records the drums. |

1997 - 1998 |
. French and foreign record labels are approached. . FINAL TRAGEDY build their home studio. . New songs are written and recorded. . The band create their Web site. |

Release of the 4-song EP "Trial Of Tears", recorded at the band's home studio. The duo has focused on harmony while retaining the aggressiveness of the first EP. |

2000 |
The band is approached by Canadian label Frowz Productions. Frowz Productions suggest releasing an 8-song album which would include the 4 songs of the "Trial Of Tears" EP. The 4 songs are rearranged and rerecorded in order to be in tune with the band's current musical orientation. |

December 2001 |
Release of the 8-song album "Greed", once again recorded at the band's home studio. |
